Anyone thought about star tracker module? What would it take?

Has anyone worked on a star tracker module or even thought about what? I'm curious what insights people may have on what work would be involved in making one.

You mean a module that would receive a synthetic star field image, do its own processing, and spit out an estimate attitude? That would be cool. But, none of us on our side are working on this right now. We use simpleNav to configure appropriate attitude state corruptions mimicking a star tracker output behavior.
