An error occurred while using SPICE

I think this happens when some git lfs files are not downloaded properly.
Could you try this from basilisk/ ?

curl -s https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/github/git-lfs/script.deb.sh | sudo bash
sudo apt install git-lfs
git lfs install
git lfs fetch --all
git lfs checkout

thank you @ephraim271 , worked like charm. it seems installation instructions need some update, to make sure those large files are not missing. git lfs is new to me.

The latest Basilisk code doesn't need LFS anymore. Rather, the cmake process will download the large data files directly from JPL if needed. See release notes of recent tagged commits.

I don't have nearly enough information to know what is not working on your system. These install instructions are used every time that we do an automated CI build, so I feel confident that the setup is still working. You can always download the large de430.bsp file manually from the JPL Spice web site at https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/generic_kernels/spk/planets/ and put it inbasilisk/supportData/EphemerisData/ folder.
