Setup for add udev rules is not working

I'm following the instructions in this document but is not working, even after reboot I keep getting errors when trying to initiate hints daemon.
Seems odd to me because If I manually execute the commands to change the group/permissions of /dev/uinput it works.

I'm using CachyOS with Hyprland

I had the same issue on arch with i3. Turns out the uinput module wasn't loading on boot so I added an entry for it:

# /etc/modules-conf.d/uinput.conf
uinput

and it worked after rebooting.

Hi, tried @aziznal 's solution, but it still show the same error.

What I did:

• Followed this instructions
• Created a /etc/modules-conf.d/uinput.conf and added a line with "uinput" in there.
• Rebooted
• Executed hintsd in the terminal

Still showing an error:

I had the same issue, but it worked after I modified my /etc/modules-load.d/uinput.conf instead of /etc/modules-conf.d/uinput.conf

# /etc/modules-load.d/uinput.conf
uinput

Hi I had the same issue, but solved by adding the uinput in /etc/modules-load.d/uinput.conf

but as you can see from the screenshot, it's not working as expected, I'm also using i3

@FramedStone It looks like you are missing a compositor such as https://github.com/yshui/picom if you're on X11, if you are also on hyprland, you might need to set a layerrule to allow transparency for the hints overlay window. Here are some similar issues that may help:
