Description
Hi, first of all thank you so much for creating and maintaining hints. I really appreciate all the work you’ve put into it — it’s the only real workaround I’ve found for Homerow on Linux, and I’m very grateful for that.
I’ve just installed hints and I’m running into a few issues.
The main problem is that the hints are shifted. They only align correctly under certain circumstances:
- Aligned: external monitor through HDMI, resolution 2560x1080 (21:9), built-in monitor disabled
- Misaligned: using DP (5120x2160, 21:9, whether built-in display is disabled or enabled)
- Misaligned: using just the built-in display
In addition, when the hints are aligned and I trigger one, sometimes the cursor either stays still or jumps to the wrong place.
To try and debug the shifted hints: with just the built-in monitor, it looks like the cursor itself goes to the right place, it’s just that the hints are not properly positioned.
I also read in another issue that having more than one keyboard layout can cause problems, so I’ve made sure I’m only using the US layout.
Could you please give me a hand and help me debug this, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks again for all your work!
pipx version: 1.4.3
system: Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS
When I change the built-in scale from 200% (the one I typically use) to 100% the hints are aligned, but when I trigger any of them the cursor doesnt click on the right place
