Please do not share dlls through Github or our Discord. It is unsafe to use dlls that have not been verified. Now to fix your issue I would ensure you install all drivers for your system to ensure your system is running correctly. |
I followed the same step for drivers in either case - Windows updates -> NVCleanstall or direct download of Geforce driver on default windows install. I also tried that driver install in Atlas vs the cleanstall and didn't see a difference. |
Did you install the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard? |
Its should be an Atlas OS problem. The root cause issue of stutters in a Elden Ring that it actively use Core 0. You could disable Core 0 by right clicking on Elden Ring process in Task Manager -> Go to Details, Elden Ring process -> Set Affinity -> Uncheck Core 0 -> OK. Then it should also increase amount of FPS. |
Okay - so this (so far) appears to be what resolves it for me. (Apologies on delayed response, COVID hit me). I am just unsure why this (stuttering) would be present in AtlasOS but not default Win11 for my environment. |
I also experienced this, when installing regular Windows 11 and playing Elden Ring, it worked fine. But after applying Atlas OS, the game would freeze, and the only way to unfreeze it was by pressing Alt+Tab, but after a few seconds, it would happen again. The only way to fix it was by installing a mod that changes the CPU affinity when starting the game. I experienced the same thing with FIFA 23 also. |
Are you using any Elden Ring FPS Unlocker or just playing it vanilla locked to 60? So I can try to replicate on my end |
You're gonna have to give A LOT more information. If issues were to be happening on Elden Ring, there would be more reports than just this. As said earlier,
See if this fixes it. |
Closing this issue due to inactivity and lack of broader reproducibility. Subsequent troubleshooting suggests the behavior is likely tied to specific hardware/driver rather than an issue with Atlas' modifications. Multiple users confirmed that disabling CPU Core 0 via affinity settings effectively mitigates the stuttering — a known workaround for certain games sensitive to thread scheduling. This is unrelated to Atlas' modifications to Windows. If more users encounter similar behavior or if a reproducible pattern emerges, feel free to reopen with detailed logs and system configurations. |

Description
On Windows 11 when launching/playing Elden Ring, the game stutters frequently. I compared the game on default windows installation as well as the current version of Atlas.
Steps to reproduce
Expected behavior
Elden Ring should be able to run on this hardware without issue using the recommended/auto detected settings in the game.
Actual behavior
When Atlas was applied, stuttering for me occurred pretty frequently, about 30-60 seconds apart and the game would freeze anywhere from 2 seconds to 20+. If I revert back to default Windows installation and install necessary drivers, there is not stuttering and it runs smoothly (no extra steps taken between each comparison beyond the workflow involved with setting up Atlas vs a default installation).
