Consult the XNAT Team to explore efficient methods for customizing the color scheme and overall appearance of XNAT. This will help align and match with the color and branding guidelines of the AIS, using XNAT themes or plugins.

Possible solutions:

1. create a custom plugin to override or extend the UI.
2. Modifying or overriding the CSS file in /xnat/webapp/xnat/styles/.

Raised the issue of the most efficient methods for customizing the color scheme and overall appearance of XNAT to match AIS in XNAT Works slack channel.

Confirmed with XNAT Works team that a XNAT UI theme might be the most expedient way of doing this customization https://wiki.xnat.org/documentation/working-with-ui-themes. And, I was also informed by Will Horton that themes are already tested and working in their working copy of XNAT 1.10 version running on JDK21. The timeline for XNAT 1.10 is not set in stone yet, but it is close to being able to run a QA sprint on it. Also, I was be told that Will Horton produced some working themes while at Flywheel to reskin the application. He will sanitize those ones and produce a version to share with us.
