This issue can be treated either as a "Phase 2", or dependent on https://github.com/Automattic/woocommerce-payments-server/issues/2849.

This issue still requires design and checking if the notifications need to be more granularly segmented, but we should probably allow for a self-serve approach from the WCPay client settings, where merchants can specify a different email for notifications.

This would write into the same account metadata from the manual approach described in the server issue, so ideally we wouldn't need refactoring.

Acceptance criteria

  • Check with the design team and other parties concerned (mostly Team 51), and define what type of segmentation we need on the email notifications. If it's just one recipient for all money-related notifications, or if we need a more granular approach.
  • There needs to be a section in the WCPay settings allowing other email recipients for notifications.
