Hi can you tell me we can use a live sharpoint document repository site as the document source for this rag application?

We don't have built-in support for Sharepoint in this repo at this time. I know a few developers have used sharepoint documents as a source, either by using the sharepoint APIs or by using the Azure AI search Sharepoint indexer: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/search/search-howto-index-sharepoint-online
Note that the indexer doesn't support the confidentiality labeling in Sharepoint, so it'd only work for Sharepoint data that had the same visibility organization-wide.

Thank you for the reply, if you can please clarify this for me, we are currently working on a project where we have a sharepoint repository which has given document access to the users based on the ms AD Security groups, we need to create a chatbot using openai azure services including ai search as the document search engine. We want to give the answers from the bot based on the user accessibility of the documents. (for example if a user from X security group and in the sharepoint he/she only has access to the x1, x2,x3 documents/pdfs when a question asked the bot can only refer to these x1 ...3 documents only)

we are struggling using the default webapp from azure ai foundry, we got instructions from the ms q/a to follow this repository as this is a advanced / customized option? if you can please let us know whether our requirement is possible ? and share some documents to support us in the development

If you need to honor security groups of Sharepoint, I've been suggested these Logic Apps based solutions:

Automate RAG Indexing: Azure Logic Apps & AI Search for Source Document Processing

MaheshSQL/SharePoint-to-Azure-Storage-for-AI-Search: LogicApps workflows for historic and ongoing document export from SharePoint Online to Azure Storage, for ingesting into AI Search.

Basically you need a way to bring the data in from Sharepoint, get the ACLs, and store those in the index. We do have a way to associate ACLs with documents, but you'd need to adapt the Logic Apps workflows above to work with the code in this repository.
