Metrics Transport System

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Currently the metrics-agent only logs data to the console. It should have the ability to send metrics data to monitoring systems such as Prometheus.

Describe the solution you'd like
An extendable transport client that pushes metric data to configured endpoints.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Using a log file, while simple, could consume large amounts of storage if not handled properly.

Additional context
Should be able to expand upon the transport client later so that more monitoring systems can consume the data collected from the metrics-agent.
