Bring back this simple feature. #278

The new design looks great, and I thought it couldn't improve on the old one, Green, but I really miss the option to choose from the available account types: Native SegWit, Legacy SegWit, 2FA, and AMP.

I especially miss the 2FA option. I can still activate it if the wallet has 12 or 24 words without a Passphrase, and I log into SideSwap; that way, an AMP ID and 2FA will be generated, but that’s the only way.

It might seem trivial, but two specific bugs happen in Blockstream, and that option would be really useful.

  1. There have been a few times (very rare) when I’ve logged into my wallet, and the balance on Onchain or Liquid has disappeared, and an option to 'Create new account' has popped up, allowing me for a brief moment to choose one of those four options, but it’s not something that’s accessible. There’s no pattern for this happening.

  2. When logging into a wallet with a BIP39 Passphrase, if you exit after about 5 to 10 seconds during the login process and then try to log in to the same wallet with the passphrase, you’ll get in quickly, but all the Onchain and Liquid addresses will be Legacy SegWit (3.../VJL...). This can also happen during slow connection times, but it seems random.

I think it would be better when creating any new wallet to leave the option for the user to 'Create new account' and let them choose the type of account, and also make it accessible if they want to add more.

I’m not sure, but I imagine this happened because some devs thought it would be better to have the Native SegWit ready to use when opening the wallet. But let’s be honest, even beginners tend to choose 'Standard' (Native SW); it’s a feature that doesn’t get in the way and is really useful. I really liked having the option to activate 2FA in the old Green wallet, or even to choose Legacy SegWit to have a parallel account alongside the AMP, and removing that option is a real miss.
