1. I liked Pablo's ideas with the ENS name, but I think I would keep it simple so you can still get all the XP points; for example, it's nice that you set up your name and picture in ENS but maybe less likely to register a subdomain? (idk)

3. I was thinking maybe we can move the achievements to the top of the page to leave space for the sidequests on the side, and keep it compact (just an idea):

Some thoughts
Probably we need side quests page with a small description how to register ens/avatar and then cache it on SRE. So maybe we also need a small button "Start" or similar on side quests section too. Also, not sure if we need subdomain and primary name. To set primary you need 2 or more ens names, right?

Yes, we could probably create a Guide! (#26 ) for it! And we could link it from each side quest (question mark icon, or just hover)

Some ideas from #218 (besides ENS name + Avatar)

• Have they deployed a contract?
• Have they swapped tokens using DEX?
• Have they held stablecoins?
• Have they used an L2?
• Have they sent a mainnet tx?

We can check which APIs could be good for getting this data. We can start small

Yeah, and I agree I wouldn't make them too complex so it still feels achievable, otherwise might be overwhelming or loose excitement

And I like the ? button for info/guide too!

I've just got a Zerion API and I think it's great for all the side quests mentioned in #241 (comment) 🔥

• They offer a free tier of 5000 req/day, 120 req/sec
• The transactions endpoint gives us everything we need to check all the side quests (even ENS name I believe, but not Avatar)
• Each user would be 1 request

How we could update side quest status (we can choose a mix of these):

• On user registration
• Nightly for users who registered or submitted a challenge in the last 24h
• Weekly for users active (who registered or submitted a challenge) in the last 7 days

Thanks for the research, Pablo! I think it makes sense to use it.

We should cache all of that (in a json column, maybe?). And also a field to store the timestamp of the last update.

How we could update side quest status (we can choose a mix of these):

I think v0 could be:

• On register
• On manually refresh button (we already have that for ENS)

And then v1, I like the refresh for active users.

Talked with Pablo in a call about this. We will create separate PRs so it doesn't get too big

1. Database fields + API import (+ manual refresh)
2. UI (UI list + Buidl points calc + modals/links)
3. (future) cron jobs, etc

Adding next iteration's ideas that we can tackle when #298 is merged

• UI for it (simple list: check / unchecked).
• "refresh": let's have the same button for ENS refresh to be the one that refreshes the sidequests too. Maybe it needs different placements and/or tweak hover tooltip text.
• Should we add "ens avatar" as a sidequest too?
• Guides. Let's have some guides for (some of / all of) these sidequests. e.g. We could link to an ENS guide: what it is, how to register, etc.

Let's keep PRs small, but let's group some of these into the same PR if it's simple. We can also create sub-issues as needed!

I think yes, it introduces additional ENS feature, easy to user and easy to check completion for us. Not everyone wants to add their avatar, though. But it's a side quest, not something required
