Use Case Background
CEDS has elements that document the basis for the issuance of a credential, but it does not have an element that allows a person’s attendance at a specific session of a Professional Development Activity to be flagged as having been used as part of that issuance. In Michigan, educators and districts submit evidence of professional learning, and when that learning is used to justify the renewal of a credential, we need a way to indicate that it was used for that purpose. Additionally, once a session has been submitted once for a certificate renewal, it may not be submitted again.
