Use Case Background
In CEDS, when defining credentials that are offered by a state, each credential can be assigned an alphanumeric Credential Definition Identifier. However, it also needs to be assigned an option from the Credential Definition Identifier System (001739), and Michigan uses some state-defined legacy identifiers for its credentials that do not fit any of the current options. Adding this new option enables organizations to store their credential definition identifiers even if those identifiers do not fit a current technology standard.
