How up-to-date is the CachyOS kernel respective to https://github.com/koverstreet/bcachefs, where the FS is now "externally maintained" ?

Very unlikely. Actually, all these problems would be not there, if Kent could behave properly as well as following rules.
Since we are likely also dropping support from the installer and the userbase is very low

There is bcachefs-dkms in the repository, which contains the latest bcachefs module

So with the filesystem now being externally maintained, is the migration as simple as installing the DKMS module, or is other system configuration going to be needed?

I understand that this sort of configuration can't be supported officially, of course, I just don't want to break my system trying to switch over to the external module. Thank you!

Installing the dkms module is enough, we will provide informations together with the next release.
