Grainplate.avsi script makes player freeze and crash when "stop" or "seek".

Hi,

I'm using the Grainplate script (which basically merge a too much DNRed video file with and a video overlay of Film Grains) and it works (I use this script only on 1080p video file). Except that if I want to stop or seek the video file, players freeze and crash (thought, no issue if I use "Pause"). I used several players (MPC_HCx64 with Madvr or EVR renderer, JRiver x64,...) and the issue is exactly the same with all.

You will fin in attachment:

• the Grainplate script. But to work, it need a 1080p video of Film Grains. The size of one I use is around 80Mo, I'm not sure I can't attach it to the ticket.
• the avisynth_filter script (quite basic) that I use. I use it with Avisynth 3.7.5 x64.
• a picture of my avisynth_filter configuration.
• the log of the errors.

To reproduce the issue, use MPC_HCx64 with all the joined script, play a 1080p video file and "seek" or "stop" the video file.

Just to complete my previous message, you can download the same 1080p video of Film Grains file that I use here : https://www.filmcomposite.com/free-assets/16mm-film-grain
Initially I remuxed it to *.avi container but with DirectShowSource you can use the *.mov file directly.

Just a last point regarding the issue, if you close directly the player, the *.exe remain active (and more or less freezed) in background.

From your description it seems there might be problem with flushing the frame queue. But I'll need to look closer.

Thanks CrendKing for your answer. And, looking the logs, I think you're right.
My guess is the issue is linked to the second video file opened by the script (through "grain=DirectShowSource(...)"). I think Avisynth_filter close the main video file but not the second still processed and so no flushing of the frame queue.

I made some other tests and clearly the issue is linked to DirectShowSource.
I used instead FFVideoSource and this time no issue to seek or stop the player. I will do more check to confirm but it seems promising!
