I agree that having access to previous proposals would be useful. Unicode only publishes the ones that advance beyond the triage step and then only as soon as they are submitted to the full committee. Some proposals have been shelved for many years, some of those have then silently been dropped. In other words, we rely on the authors to draft their proposals in the open or at least publish them independently when done. Some do. Some organize in groups like emojination.org that make documents available at least to members. |

I think a leek/green onion/scallion emoji would make a lot sense. But I've seen it's been rejected by the committee multiple times. It'd be helpful to look at the rejected applications to gauge the viability of new application.
