Abstract

When producing and processing humanities data, very often deal with information about people – unlike in for example physics or chemistry, the primary subjects of our research may be thinking, feeling beings, and that means that we have significant ethical and moral considerations in how we go about our data projects. This resource will detail methods and techniques developed to create and process datasets without compromising ethics.

Hi @emilykateemilykate - Thanks for getting back to me. It's a shame I won't be working with you on this, it's been a pleasure! But hopefully we will find another way to work on something soon.

However, regarding the University being able to appoint someone else, yes that is possible. The CMS now allows for all users to be able to see all open branches, so you don't necessarily need to have created that branch in order to edit it (although we do obviously strongly discourage anyone from editing a branch without permission!). Also, I will be able to copy the markdown from the commits in the pull request and create a new branch that someone will be able to work on. I do hope that makes sense!

I will close this issue now so that you don't get any more updates hitting your inbox. If Dr Andrews or someone else from the Uni wishes to proceed with developing this module further, please do ask them to raise a 'New Resource' issue (tagging me as the assignee) stating that they want to continue work on Pull Request 1090 and we can take it from there. If I don't hear anything from your colleagues in the next 2 weeks, I will also close the Pull Request, but don't worry, the information is retained so we will still be able to retrieve the markdown if required.

This was really so close to being finished, it would be such a pity to not see it published after all your work!
