Mandatory Connected App

Hi,
Is it mandatory to have a connected app?
What I liked about the previous plugin is that it does not require a connected app.

Thanks for the question! Here’s a clearer explanation:

The connected app is used only during authentication and is not deployed to your org. All you need to do is install the extension and approve the access request when prompted—nothing more.

I created and configured the connected apps in my own developer org. Even if that org is later deleted, the connected apps persist within Salesforce’s infrastructure. At that point they become read-only; to make changes, I would have to redeploy them to a new org, update the configuration, and rotate all the client secrets used for authentication.

In short, end-users of the extension never need to deploy or manage the connected apps themselves.
