Define the first project

What does our work actually mean? What do we want to achieve as the first project E.g.

• Creating new list of resources
• Contributing to an existing list like https://github.com/devrelcollective/awesome-devrel

My suggestion would be to create the list of the aggregators as the first step

Broadening it slightly, maybe the strategic goal is to:

• aggregate the existing aggregators
• learn about their framework for handling updates
• identify pros/cons and any gaps with each to better understand the problem our working group can solve to offer the most value

Specifically, events may be a good place to start because there are several out there already so we could easily fall into the trap of competing standards.

Some problems I have encountered with existing solutions:

• must check all the aggregators, none are comprehensive
• don't necessarily have filtering beyond text search (technology, industry, cfp status, region, event size / tier, engagement opportunities, audience personas, hosts, deadlines, speaker stipend y/n)
• focus of these is typically on CFP process rather than sponsorship or participation process

Other ideas of how we could help:

• If I just want to find all the Python events (regardless of CFP), where would I look?
• If I want to find all events in South America that focus on web technology, where would I look?
• If I want to find out whether any meetups in Paris are looking for a speaker next summer, where would I look?
• If I was looking for a speaker for my event and had an open-ended date, where would I post it?
• If I want to find events where CISOs attend, where would I find that list?

💡 Personas

A first project could be the persona library. I am not aware of any existing resource that have made an effort to aggregate personas for the general DevRel community so it would be greenfield opportunity to solve a problem.

Counter-point, a challenge with starting with personas is that it isn't simply an aggregation problem but also a content creation problem to create some personas to populate the library.
