Could any Longhorn builds be possible?

I also thought of Longhorn because it is between XP and Vista. It uses a similar base to XP so in theory, I think it could work.

I tried a build of Longhorn (I forget which one) and it wouldn't boot - it just instantly BSODed. Some (probably earlier) builds might work, you could experiment if you want.

I tried 4015, and I got stuck at Freeloader loading Boot Drivers.

By using the SOS flag, I found out it got stuck on drvmain.sdb.

Try changing BootType in freeldr.ini to WindowsVista.

It worked. Next problem is enumeration. When I do the thing where I have to enumerate the drivers, I left it for about half an hour and the keys in enum are not back.

I also tried enumerating using Windows XP and injecting parts of the key into Longhorn. No difference.

I had issues with Vista enumeration not working on the Apple TV as well. I’m not sure how enumeration works on either OS but it doesn’t surprise me that Longhorn has issues with it.
