Failed to build HOMME in E3SMv3

Hi all,
I tried to use /global/homes/w/wwy/E3SMv3/components/homme/test/jw_baroclinic/baro.job to compile HOMME, like this, but build failed due to some PIO issue:
/global/homes/w/wwy/E3SMv3/components/homme/utils/externals/scorpio/src/clib/pio_mpi_timer.cpp:10:16: error: use of undeclared identifier 'PIO_EINTERNAL'.
My setting is "module load PrgEnv-intel" and /global/homes/w/wwy/E3SMv3/components/homme/cmake/machineFiles/pm-cpu.cmake. Any suggestion?

Are you trying to build the standalone HOMME dycore to run idealized test cases? This is not well supported by E3SM.

I tried the steps in these two links, but when I loaded E3SM case env setting it showed

eval $(~/E3SMv3/cime/CIME/Tools/get_case_env)

/usr/share/lmod/8.3.1/init/csh:54: parse error near `\n'

And similar PIO errors still occurred. Maybe I should skip this testing for now.

background: The cime/CIME/Tools/get_case_env utility will output all the commands one should run in order to setup the environment needed for building E3SM. This is used to setup the build environment for standalone HOMME (since standalone HOMME is not built by CIME). It generates the commands for either csh or bash, depending on the $SHELL variable.

My default login shell is tcsh, and if I run the csh version, it works:
eval cime/CIME/Tools/get_case_env
If I switch to the bash shell by typing "bash", and then run the bash version:
eval $(e3sm/cime/CIME/Tools/get_case_env)
I can reproduce the error above. It's because $SHELL=/bin/tcsh even though I'm now in a bash shell, and get_case_env produces csh commands.

I was able to get it to work under bash via:
export SHELL=/bin/bash
eval $(cime/CIME/Tools/get_case_env )

If you login shell is bash, then I would think you would have SHELL=/bin/bash already, and it's a mystery why you are seeing this error.

After adding export SHELL=/bin/bash, HOMME has been complied successfully. Test case such as DCMIP2012 Test 3-1 can be run now. Thanks Mark.
