The CMIP7 LUH3 data has plantation forests separated out from secondary forest. This is something that we should take advantage of at some point.

This needs to be done at one of the next minor version updates of CTSM beyond ctsm6.0.0, so possibly in ctsm6.1.
But, of course just adding it on the surface dataset isn't the only thing, it's adding the scientific ability to handle them. Likely this would be something that we'd want the FATES model to handle for us.
So can people with interest in this comment with their thoughts on how this should be handled scientifically?
