Brief summary of bug

In the preliminary ctsm5.4 datasets on the ctsm5.4 alpha branch, when run in SP mode generic crop will be run essentially as bareground. LAI/SAI/HTOP/HBOT all get set to zero.

Details of bug

This applies to the resolutions we created surface datasets for and added to the ctsm5.4 alpha branch:

f09, f19, ne30pg3

Also applies to the ne120 dataset with this name:

surfdata_ne120np4.pg3_SSP2-4.5_1979_78pfts_c250916.nc

Bgc and BgcCrop compsets prognose these values, so are fine.

This came in for CESM with cesm3_0_alpha07a (but there are no CESM B compsets that run with SP)

For CAM this applies to ALL compsets other than: @cacraigucar

• One with _BGC or _BDRD in the alias
• FCfireHIST
  (again for f09, ne30pg3) and for CAM tags AFTER cam6_4_116

For CISM this applies to CISM tags AFTER cismwrap_2_2_009 @Katetc
