Description
What is the context or reason for the change?
UNDRR Hazard Information Profiles (HIPS) have been reviewed and updated. They provide a comprehensive list and description of multiple hazards grouped by hydromet, geohazard, environmental, biological, chemical, extraterrestrial, societal, technological.
Why is this not covered by the existing model?
In v0.1 we proposed a limited list of hazard types and process types, which were then mapped to a limited set of HIPS.
What is your proposed change?
The proposed change would be to directly include the HIPS as a hazard type, using their terminology - Identifier, hazard type, cluster, specific hazard. And remove hazard types and process type as a reference.
RDLS would then be able to leverage the description of the specific hazard, which has been developed and agreed by expert panel, and would be capable of supplying a more complete range of hazards - natural and anthropogenic, increasing the capability to handle data from FCV contexts for example.
Challenge: we would want to extend https://github.com/GFDRR/rdl-standard/blob/0.2-dev/schema/codelists/open/IMT.csv codelist, to provide IMT for hazards covered in HIPS 2025; the URL reference for each should provide those.
Can you provide an example?
