Posting a draft should be easier to find

Today I wanted to post a draft for the first time. I had trouble to discover how this is done.

Right now I have to go to the drafts view and double click the title of a draft. While I discovered this easily, I din't realize at all that this allows to post instead of only to edit. Both views are almost the same, only the button text is different. Hence I thought this is just another way to edit my draft.

Probably a minimal solution would be to have an option to post on the edit button. Similar as you do when writing a post and you can select alternative actions in a dropdown.

Same behaviour everywhere and you're still able to review the draft before posting.

you can click anywhere (except the things that open your profile) on it once fwiw, it's a card.

When not editing it, the title is "New Post", otherwise it's "Edit Post".

When you explicitly click the edit button on a draft you are essentially saying "I'm not planning on posting this yet, I just want to edit it".

When you click on the draft itself, the editor shows up where you can do any final edits before posting, but your intention is posting it now. (aka you are reviewing the draft before posting it)

If anything "editing" a draft seems redundant.

I often encounter this problem too, the distinction in pathways to get to "edit mode" vs "posting mode" is very abstract, when there is only an edit pencil icon in the drafts list and not a "prepare to post" button.

Wouldn't it make more sense to combine the two dialog modes into one that has multiple buttons at the bottom of the dialog?

This bit me again today when I went to the drafts and clicked on the draft and it opened the composer, not realizing I didn't click specifically on the edit button, and then I made a bunch of changes to the draft in the composer... only to realize that it only had a "Post" button and wouldn't let me save the changes for later, so I had to copy the changes out to a text editor, close the dialog and "Discard" the changes, then click the pencil Edit button and paste my changes back in (and reattach my pictures) from the third-party text editor. That's a lot of hoops to jump through ;)
