The ability to "tag" field collected RLD data to a (x, y, z) spatial location surrounding the subject plant is needed.
Field collected data (soil coring) will contain an (x, y) coordinate representing where the core was taken, then often a z range representing the depth layer/increment where such RLD data is collected from. Using grapevine as an example, the (0, 0, 0) location will be defined as ground level of soil surface, and centre of the trunk of subject vine.
This feature will provide high resolution spatial-root distribution information for non-large-structural roots to the model to fit/optimize towards.
