Manually deleting value reset to fallback_colors

Hi,
i just found this amazing script and tried to understand the way it works to add a button to delete the value of the field.
While doing that I found i can't erase the field's value because once it's blank it's always reseted to the fallbacks values.
My question : is it a bug or a feature ?
It would be logical if I erase the value of the field to keep the field empty.

What would be the best way to add support for clearing the field, i.e. setting the value to a blank string?

Hi guys, totally overlooked this thread.

It is by design. To have the field always filled with a proper value.
You could use javascript to set the value as empty without triggering the "input/keyup/etc" events.
