Hi all, I am at a loss in setting up my private server. So far, I have followed LandSandBoat's guide, and I'm up to the point where I can play locally just fine. I want to make my server publicly available so that my friend can play on my server with me.
If I change the zoneip values to my public IP, it stops being able to connect. The thing is, I don't understand why... I have opened up the ports listed in the LSB guide on my router, and I also set the 4 server executables to allow inbound and outbound traffic through my firewall. Still, this isn't enough to get it working.
I called my ISP and I confirmed that the ports are forwarded correctly, so I feel comfortable ruling that out.
I've also tried various combinations of changing the value in Windower's settings.xml file for which ip to connect to. I've tried localhost/127.0.0.1, my private network ip, and my public ip. When I use localhost and/or the private ip in Windower as well as in zoneip, I can connect just fine.
I've already checked out these threads, but they didn't solve my problem.
