Before she graduates, the second-year students, Kozue, Tsuzuri, and Megumi, decide to make Sachi, to whom they owe a great deal of gratitude, a song that will “make her cry her eyes out!” (according to Megumi)
Megumi:
Agh…
Rurino:
Osawa Rurino reporting. Currently, Megu-chan has occupied my bed, and she’s waiting for “it to just hit her”.
Megumi:
Agh……
Rurino:
I don’t think anyone but me knows about this rare side of Megu-chan. Seeing the gears in her head fully spinning is really cute!
Rurino:
But writing lyrics for a senior must be a pretty stressful situation, huh? Are you alright?
Megumi:
I mean, I at least have something.
Rurino:
Oh, really?
Megumi:
Three ideas.
Rurino:
Oh, wow! You’re a genius, Megu-chan!
Megumi:
It’s a pretty simple pattern. Start by coming up with a theme, then follow where each possible approach leads.
Megumi:
Take “graduation” for example. You could have a song about goodbyes, or a song about taking off from the nest, or even a song from the perspective of what’s left behind.
After that, all that’s left is to decide on some keywords to focus on, and fill in the words around them.
Rurino:
So why can’t you study again, Megu-chan…?
Megumi:
It’s not my fault, blame the studying! But that’s not the point.
Megumi:
Normally this’d be fine, but… This time it’s supposed to be a song from the second years, right?
Rurino:
Yeah.
Megumi:
Even if the composition and choreography are good…
For the lyrics, it can’t just be my perspective. I have to include Kozue and Tsuzuri’s in this, too.
Rurino:
Oh… Sounds rough.
Megumi:
And I’m not Kozue or Tsuzuri.
So, I have to imagine what kinds of things they’d like to tell Sachi-senpai.
Maybe they might even want to tell her to get lost!
Rurino:
I kinda doubt that, though!
Rurino:
But I getcha. So that’s what you’re worried about?
Megumi:
Hm… Alright, question time! If it was you that had to write these lyrics, how would you tackle that task?
Rurino:
Got it! I’d ask Kozue-senpai and Tsuzuri-senpai a ton of questions about their experiences, combine everyone’s perspectives, and work hard to come up with a peaceful solution!
Megumi:
Bzzt!
Rurino:
I didn’t think there’d be a buzzer…
Megumi:
The right answer is, ignore that cheap pattern and just push ahead with what I think is best!
Rurino:
So strong!
Megumi:
Because everyone believes that I’ve got this.
That just means I’ve gotta put my 120% in and get Kozue and Tsuzuri to accept the results!
Rurino:
So powerful… That’s my Megu-chan…!
Megumi:
Which means…
Megumi:
I have these three ideas at 100%! I have to pick one to put 120% into…!
Rurino:
That’s tough!
Rurino:
Hey, is there anything I can do? Or is this something you have to do by yourself?
Megumi:
If you’ve got something, then do it!
Megumi:
I need more power… This isn’t enough power to make Ogami Sachi cry her eyes out…
Rurino:
You’re writing lyrics with that in mind!?
Megumi:
As long as it moves her, I’ll take it!
Rurino:
Huh…? So, what’s the plan?
Are we gonna try watching some school idol channels you like? Y’know, I’ve been learning a lot watching chill school idols~
Megumi:
Way to think ahead, Ruri-chan! Headpats~
Rurino:
Uaaaaaa…
Megumi:
So you’re borrowing power from school idols, huh… That might work… wait, huh? Hold on…?
Rurino:
Megu-chan?
Megumi:
…Is there any other choice…?
No, but is my body even ready for that…? But I want to make something great…!
Megumi:
Thanks, Ruri-chan. I think I know where to find the power I’m looking for, thanks to you.
Rurino:
Ooh!
Megumi:
I’ll just have to reach… for that forbidden power!
Rurino:
Ooh…? Oh?
