[Bug] Unable to edit toolbar

1. Right click doesn't open the menu to edit toolbar
2. The view > customize toolbar option does not open the menu where you can edit toolbar buttons.

I also have this issue. I am on the macOS 26 public beta.

Hi @totallygeekdom, thanks for reporting. To better understand the issue, would you mind sharing a recording (for example, after clicking on "Customize Toolbar" do existing items shake)?

On the other hand, are you able to move or remove existing toolbar items, by cmd-dragging them?

I'm also curious to know if other apps are working fine, since this part is entirely managed by the system.

One possibility is that some installed apps might be interfering with window management. Can you think of anything that could be causing this?

By the way, can you please try this in your terminal and restart the app?

rm -f ~/Library/Preferences/app.cyan.markedit.plist && defaults delete app.cyan.markedit

This is going to delete user settings for MarkEdit and bring the app to a clean state.

I just heard a similar case where new windows are all blocked: #983

Maybe try rebooting the computer?
