Standalone "Eternal TCP"?

Sorry if this is off-topic for this repository, but I'm curious: is there a way to run the "Eternal TCP" part of the "Eternal Terminal" stack as a standalone service?

In other words, say I had some other application (just as an example, a desktop chat client) that used TCP and would benefit from Eternal TCP's connection continuity.

Is there perhaps a write-up on how to do this? Maybe it's using the existing et executable itself, just setting up a separate tunnel listener that an arbitrary other program could connect to.
