dh2bagw_salda subroutine doesn't convert to units of carbon?

Does anyone know why the dh2bagw_salda subroutine doesn't convert from units of biomass to units of carbon? It seems to intend to predict biomass in units of carbon (like d2bagw_2pwr does), but then never makes the unit conversion.

Ryan answered this question: "the Saldarriaga paper must have made the relationship between the height and diameter with carbon biomass, whereas modern allometries may have their parameters calibrated to total biomass."
