Adding an efficiency seems like a very reasonable step.
Ordinarily adding a parameter with a default value (here 0.2) that changes answers would be strongly discouraged, but as this capability is very new and does not appear to have been used yet in any existing configurations, I think that adding the desired default value is acceptable in this case.
