Describe the feature
The kernel that the user programs vs the quantum instructions executed on hardware pass through a compilation chain of gate decomposition, qubit routing and optimisations.
Some of this may be handled by CUDA-Q and the hardware vendor may also make further optimisations to the instructions they receive.
Our users are increasingly focusing on hardware runs and would like this information to ensure they are running optimal circuits. Moreover, providing users control over optimisation parameters may also be beneficial.
