Fix type checking issues

When working with an IDE having support for type checking like https://github.com/detachhead/basedpyright there are raised some issues. This does not necessarily mean that the code is broken. It makes working with the code harder however.

Could you detail what kind of issues you are facing, also i am working on adding type hints to the codebase so when i am done, would it be able to fix this issue as well?

Real issues are highlighted as ERRORs (instead of as WARNINGs) when using IDE integration of tools. Personally I'm using the zed IDE privately which has builtin support for some tools when working with Python. Adding type hints will not be sufficient to fix the errors (as far as I can remember it have been 3 or so only). But it will make the issue easy to spot for you.
