Those images are getting generated by the build so looks like they need to do committed, the policies change is good to go.

Yes - we have a little utility that creates WEBP images of varying sizes and committing the files keeps the build process shorter. If you ever need to regenerate one, just delete the JSON file next to it (image.png will have an image.png.json metadata file).

We also use the metadata to thin the deployment package as we don't need to keep uploading old images to S3.
