Question

How do I modify the samples so that the Show Pane button does not appear in the red box, but in one of the green boxes? The button outlined in red is very inconvenient.

Hi @Litharge,

Thanks for reaching out.

In Outlook on the web and new Outlook on Windows, the add-in button appearing on the action bar in read mode (the red box in your screenshot) is by design and can't be programmatically changed. In compose mode, the button appears in the Message tab of the ribbon.

That said, let me contact the necessary team to check whether there are any plans to also surface the add-in button on the ribbon in read mode. When you get a chance, could you please share the version of your Outlook client? To locate the version, in Outlook, select Settings (gear icon) > General > About Outlook.

Thanks for providing your client information, @Litharge.

I confirmed that we're currently rolling out support for the More Apps and add-in buttons on the ribbon in read mode for Outlook on the web and new Outlook on Windows. While I'm unable to provide a specific date when you'll see this change on your end, rest assured that it should reach your client in the near future.

I'll go ahead and close this issue, but should you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reopen it or create a new one.
