Pull Ubuntu version from upstream lsb-release file which contains

DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
DISTRIB_RELEASE=24.04
DISTRIB_CODENAME=noble
DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu Noble Numbat"

Also noticed there is still support for < Ubuntu 22.04 version in this script which I can remove too if you guys want

Yeah I think removing < 22.04 makes sense. We'll need to update the docs as well. Let's see if anyone else has any opposition to this
