This repository provided maintenance and version updates for the Blender add-on Pie Menu Editor (PME) through February 28, 2026.
PME was originally developed by roaoao in 2016.
With PME, users could easily extend their custom UI and enhance their efficiency when working with Blender. Its ease of use and extensibility have consistently earned high praise from the user community.
My goal with this repository was to keep PME working, stable, and faithful to its original design for the people who continued to rely on it.
That maintenance role has now concluded, and this repository remains as the public archive of the PME 1.x maintenance line.
roaoao has not returned to active development for some time.
Since that return could no longer be reasonably expected, I decided to move the project forward myself for the users who still depend on PME.
Maintenance of the PME 1.x line ended on February 28, 2026. Ongoing development has moved to Pie Menu Editor Fork 2.x, which is being developed as a paid add-on for long-term professional maintenance and improvement.
Pie Menu Editor Fork 2.x is a separate commercial continuation, not a free continuation of this archived PME 1.x maintenance line.

This repository is preserved for:
- historical reference
- legacy PME 1.x users
- source review under the GPL license
The archived source now lives under src/pie_menu_editor.
For legacy Blender use, take that directory as the add-on itself, or create a junction from your Blender add-ons folder to it.
This repository remains available for existing PME 1.x users as-is. It should not be confused with Pie Menu Editor Fork 2.x itself.
Going forward, only critical fixes may be considered when truly necessary. Regular development effort is now focused on Pie Menu Editor Fork 2.x.
This project began as a fork of the original Pie Menu Editor created by roaoao.
I remain grateful for roaoao's work and for the community members who supported this maintenance effort over the years. All original rights and authorship of the original Pie Menu Editor remain with roaoao in accordance with the GPL license.
This repository is no longer the main development line.
Issues and pull requests may still be useful for historical context or isolated legacy fixes, but active review and broad support should not be expected.

This repository is provided in good faith as an archive of the PME 1.x maintenance line.
The source code and modification scripts are shared for reference and legacy use, but I make no guarantees regarding functionality, safety, future compatibility, or compliance with applicable laws.
If the original developer requests changes regarding attribution or stewardship, such requests will be handled in good faith.
This repository documents the history of the maintenance fork and the transition from PME 1.x to Pie Menu Editor Fork 2.x.
I continue to use the name Pie Menu Editor Fork to keep this line clearly distinct from the original Pie Menu Editor by roaoao.
That distinction matters out of respect for the original author and for the project's lineage.
If you publish a public fork, please keep the name pie-menu-editor-fork.
Altering the fork name can make it harder for users to distinguish the maintenance line from the original project and from other unrelated copies, which can create unnecessary confusion.
If you only need a personal backup, please clone or download the repository instead of publishing a separate public copy.
