Export all ignores current filters

I'm going through the following.

When I try to export data(ALL) even though I have filters applied to the column, it ignores those filters and exports all records from the database. Is it the expected behavior or am I missing something?

My datasource would look something like this:

...
public function datasource()
{
      return ThisTableModel::from(
          ThisTableModel::query()->join(
              ...
          )->join(
             ...
         )->leftJoinSub(
             ...
         )->select([]), // here i would apply alias to some of these columns and also some database side formatting
         'subqueryAlias'
      );
}
...
