The specfem team is announcing a (hopefully) monthly zoom hour for developers and users. The focus will be on coordinating development. Users are welcome to join, listen, and raise issues. If you might be interested in participating, please fill out the short google survey here
We will collect the email addresses and send zoom login details.

The first discussion is planned for Wed Nov 30th at 0800 US Pacific coast time, 1100 US Eastern time, 1700 central Europe.

To put some items on our discussion list for this zoom meeting, this here would be something I'd like to go through quickly:

• upcoming releases: shall we clear out the git history before the releases or after?
• external source time functions: can we unify the 3 implementations in the 2D, 3D_Cartesian and 3D_Globe versions?
• meshing: how could we mesh urban areas, i.e., buildings, with some simple approaches?

Hi all, it was great to see everyone on the Nov 30th zoom. It's time to schedule the next one. We're aiming for the first Wed of every month at the following times:

For January, though, we'll take the 2nd Wednesday (January 11). The one after that will be Feb 1st. This week Rohit will be presenting on the new release of SPECFEM++. This release adds adjoint capabilities for 2D domains within SPECFEM++ and adds performance optimizations across multiple architecture. I encourage you to try the code.
