Are you aware that there is an error in the grade 8 natural sciences teacher's book? In the practical investigation for parallel circuits it says that the bulbs will glow brighter when each successive bulb is added in parallel. This is not in fact the case: while the current in the wire before and after the parallel section of the circuit will increase (so the ammeter reading will increase), the current through each bulb will be the same as before (I=V/R), so the bulbs will stay at a constant brightness.

This is on p. 94, of the Grade 8 B teacher guide.
