[Feature]: Support for Spring Boot 4.0 / Spring Cloud 2025.1

Feature Description

Solace Spring Cloud should be upgraded to Spring Boot 4.0 / Spring Cloud 2025.1. to support newest Spring Boot features. Also the Spring Boot 3.x OSS support end is not too far away (30.6.2026).

Use Case

I want to use Spring Modulith version 2.0.0 (needs Spring Boot 4.0.0) for implementing Transactional Outbox functionality (supporting JPA and MongoDb) together with Solace Spring Cloud.

I am the product manager for integration at Solace. We are moving our integration framework and this project (which the framework heavily uses) to Spring Boot 4.x in the next quarter and will have it fully released by May/June 2026. This is well before the end of support for the Spring Boot 3.x releases. This is a major version upgrade and affects many of our Java-based products and we need to be thorough in our testing.

With all due respect, but I have a slightly different interpretation of "well before" than "at worst a few days before". Anyone integrating their Spring Boot service with an updated Solace binder will probably need to do some "thorough testing" themselves as well, if not for the countless other non-Solace-related changes in Spring Boot 4, then at least because of the significant changes in the Solace binder itself, which I understand must be done internally to migrate the binder to Spring Boot 4. No matter how thorough your tests are, they won't be able to fully eliminate the possibility of surprise issues and unforeseen interactions that might come up during integration of the new binder into existing enterprise projects.

It would be very beneficial and helpful to at least get access to pre-release versions of a Spring Boot 4 compatible binder as soon as possible. Most likely, early feedback on issues observed during integration in real applications would also hugely benefit the eventual stability of the first production-ready release of the upgraded binder itself.

Spring Boot 4 was released in November 2025. Spring provides milestone and release candidate versions well in advance specifically so that ecosystem partners can prepare, test, and align their integrations in time for the final release.

Given this, we actually expected a solace binder with Spring Boot 4 support to be available at the time of the Spring Boot 4 release.

Requesting urgent prioritization of this upgrade, as we are currently blocked and unable to move forward with the Spring Boot 4 upgrade.

We have prioritized this upgrade and are close to completion of the changes. We are encountering some issues with the polling consumer, which we are looking into.
I am confident that the Solace Spring Cloud and Solace Spring Boot projects will be upgraded and available mid-March. If anything changes, I will update this thread.
