Downloads nothing but a very basic HTML

wayback_machine_downloader https://imgur.com/a/004iJ --directory downloaded-backup/ just downloads .\downloaded-backup\a\004iJ\index.html where 004iJ.html is a very basic looking page with a few links that weighs 1/5 the size of any of the images I'm actually interested in downloading. None of the images are downloaded. I've tried --all and appending /* as suggested in #6 but it's always that same HTML in the end.

For example, https://web.archive.org/web/20230602074614/https://i.imgur.com/DA7aS7i.jpg is on WM, not Imgur, yet that's not downloaded.

Technically these are different links, which is why it's not loading; i.imgur.com is a subdomain of imgur.com. For example, I used a few other WBM downloaders (e.g. the Python WMD) and got the same result. You could try running that command with --recursive-subdomains --subdomain-depth 1, though that command is still experimental. In theory it should work though

I really apologize for taking so long to respond.

This definitely does download more stuff, but

• it's way too much stuff. It's been running for a minute and I'm seeing ...(28/9431) in the terminal...
• the "stuff" is still just a bunch of html files, e.g. \downloaded-backup\subdomains\api.imgur.com\3\account<username>\folders%3Fclient_id%%26order%3Dasc%26page%3D0%26per_page%3D150%26sort%3Dname\index.html. Is there no way to get the actual WEBPs, MP4s, JPGs?

Hmm. In this case it's probably fetching a lot of stuff archived under imgur.com, though this may also download other things you don't need in the process. Best thing you can do is use either --from 20230602074614 (or whatever date matches the files you need) or --to 20230602074614 to make it more specific, and also use something like --only "/\.(gif|jpg|jpeg)$/i" if you want only images, for example. That way it's easier to find the content you need.

It's the best you can do, due to the way imgur images are stored.
