Resources are loaded from resource packs.

Raw Resource

Raw resources are loaded directly from the pack, and represent the literal data stored.

Virtual Resource

Virtual resources are not loaded from the pack, but calculate their existence and data from raw resources found in the packs themselves.

Examples:

  • Language files. LangResource loads the appropriate locale files from the packs, and combines them.
  • Icons, bitmaps. These resources load appropriate scaled versions from the pack.
  • Many resources that interpret their data for processing.
