Manual province painting #117

One of the most unique aspects about iteration-based geopols is the usage of time-based region maps.

e.g.

A server hosts their "World War 2" iteration based around the years 1936-1945.

Ideally this server would want to manually paint, name, and customize provinces based on 1936 geo political regions; i.e. Danzig

See below for an example image (except its japan and korea lol):

As seen above, the provinces are neatly and systematically created by an admin before the iteration starts.

Such a system would encompass the following components:

"Paint Mode"

  • Enabled via command, requires boolean value set in config in order to disable randomly generated provinces
  • Disables all gameplay interactions by non-admins
  • Allows for concurrent creation of provinces using commands, or perhaps a fancy item that raycasts to select chunks
  • Exiting paint mode applys and reloads the changes
  • Painting would also be possible on the Dynmap, which would just save a region file, or whatever format townyprovinces uses to keep track of provinces - admins would manually upload this to the data dir
