Summary
Aegisub instantly crashes when opening video/audio files
Which version and OS are you using?
Aegisub 9521-master-6996f34e4
manually compiled on Ubuntu 24.04 (Gnome, Xorg)
How to reproduce the bug?
Happens on about every 5th to 15th media opening. Usually crashes twice in a row when Aegisub is reopened with attempting to load the same media within a couple of seconds after the crash
The issue occurs rather independant of audio/video codecs. Most tested are mp4 (MPEG-4 AAC + H.264 (Main Profile)), opus, webm (Vorbis + VP8)
What's the actual bug behavior?
Instant Aegisub crash, automatic script resolution adjustment happens before though (I know bc I enabled autosave for every change made)
What should happen instead?
Correctly loading the audio/video
Logs and/or screenshots
journalctl logs the following error message when the crashes occur:
gnome-shell[3089]: Can't update stage views actor unnamed [MetaWindowActorX11] is on because it needs an allocation.
coredump files can be provided if needed
