Videos in HD are not played back

When I try to play any video that allows selecting a resolution, it only plays for the first 4-5 seconds and then freezes on a white screen.
However, if I manage to switch the video resolution to 480p or lower before it freezes, it plays perfectly fine.
Is there any way to fix this issue?

By the way, I saw that someone had a similar problem before, so just to clarify - all my graphics drivers are properly installed, and Microsoft Edge is working fine on my system.

The fact that the whole video turns white suggest that the host Edge process crashes or something like this, although it's a bit hard to make a diagnose as Edge DevTools can't be opened when the app is installed from the Microsoft Store. If you send me a message on Telegram (same username as here) I can send you a beta, from that we should be able to get a better understanding of what's happening.
