[TF2] locked in chat glitch / bug

if you are in game, as in, in a match,

main menu > options > advanced > escape button > console bind > advanced > console bind > open chat

it locks you in chat, unable to send / exit / type anything, can't look around either, but you can shoot etc, no way to reset it other than retry binded before hand or if you exit the game

It should work for almost anyone, I asked around 10 people, it worked on around 8 of them and the 2 people said it didn't work, not sure if they did it incorrectly or correctly, but I asked one and he was opening advance settings, so I corrected him, and it worked, the other said it didn't work either way

Those exact steps work for me. Additionally, reloading the HUD with hud_reloadscheme makes the chat disappear but stops you from opening the main menu.

There is a guaranteed different way of doing this too, as I've accidentally done this in a few games before and haven't found a way to solve it yet. Being forced out of the server by spamming commands also allows you to reset, but obviously this kicks you from the game entirely.

Yes, there's many ways to do this, this also happened when you tried to do the sv_cheats exploit in casual, it sometimes did this to you, sometimes it randomly happens as well, but very annoying
