If you are standing right next to a wall and shoot from the Flare gun or Manmelter under 40-50 angle you can damage yourself. Additionally, if you die from this, then the killfeed will show you the icon of Detonator, so it somehow related to it.

The videos don't work. It's likely that dying to your own flare in any circumstance just results in the Detonator icon because you're not supposed to be able to die to a non-reflected flare except to the Detonator's.

Both videos work on my end, so I would suggest that you check again if they are working now.

They don't seem to work on Firefox but work fine on Chrome

It's because the OP uses Steam Game Recording and Steam uses the H.265 codec and that codec, at least in Windows, needs to be “purchased” in order to watch videos in that codec

Isnt that how detonator was created? They used a bug to create a weapon.
